Service is a Part of Life at Bullis

Every student can make a difference.

A key component of Bullis' balanced approach is including opportunities for students to gain broader perspectives on their world. 在本地, students regularly engage in a range of community service projects, from single events to ongoing commitments with shelters, 食物银行, and other organizations that provide services in the community.

All Seniors participate in a week with 人类家园. Other service efforts include the All-School Cereal Drive, Thanksgiving Basket donations and Pie Bake, 对已部署军队的支持, 玩具驱动器, 阿尔茨海默氏症走, 和北极熊跳水.

学生 also initiate service projects that are quickly woven into the community fabric. Service is not required at Bullis, but these projects are popular because they enable students to connect with each other and the wider community while giving back.

每年, 高年级学生 regularly participate in community service projects — not to fulfill a requirement, but to serve others and learn how much is to be gained when you give back.

Since 2007, Bullis students each spring have gathered thousands of boxes of cereal to donate to 甘露食品中心 to help address the ongoing food need in Montgomery County. Student from all divisions participate.

Groups of Bullis students, staff, and parents volunteer at 更大的圈子 全年. Whether the community service team, 运动队, 父组或其他, all go with the same sense of purpose—to support this important local organization which helps so many people in our community to end poverty.

After classes end and before graduation, Bullis seniors spend a week on 人类家园 trips, building and making repairs to houses.

Team Bullis walks in the Nation's Walk to End Alzheimer's in DC every November.

每年11月, the Bullis community gathers and bakes over 200 pies to support local families at Thanksgiving.
